I have no clue how this slipped my mind, but....
Today is My Not So Vacant Shelf's 1 Year Blogiversary!
Its crazy how time goes by.
In one year I've managed to review over 140 books.
I've completed 290 (now 291) posts.
I have over 659 comments.
I have over 650 followers and over 300 e-mail subscribers.
I've hosted 8 giveaways
I've created and maintained not, only the blog, but a Facebook page. (Which, trust me, is a lot for me to do. I'm not very co-ordinated.)
I've popped my Twitter-Cherry
I've personally created 6 graphics for my blog (with two more in the works as we speak)
Created 2 memes: Spreading the Word, and Quotes! (I know, I know purely genius titles and memes)
And I've loved every single moment of it.
I still remember my first post and reason for creating this blog. I sat back one day trying to organize my bookshelf to get the greatest use out it and that was how the post: How to Organize Your Book Shelf was created. (I can't guarantee it's the best of writing, but it was my first!)
I had no clue how to promote my blog, and didn't actually have any followers for the first month. Didn't have a goodreads.com account either. Didn't even know about goodreads.com for a whole month. After entering the goodreads world my blog flourished.
My template for reviews has changed around the 175 times marker and probably will continue to change as I and my blog do too.
I remember the first author to contact me, a lovely Natalie Wright, and promoting her first book Emily's House (click for review). She was also kind enough to help me out with my first giveaway posted on the blog. Special thanks goes out to Natalie, and, umm...I'm still working on getting the review done for Emily's Trial. It will be out soon I promise!
I remember that The Elementalists were the first to share content from My Not So Vacant Shelf onto their Facebook page and ended up helping me promote my blog. Special thanks goes out to them!
The first author to ever comment on a post was Jana Oliver author of the Demon Trappers series. Big smiles go out to her!
In celebration of the big 1 I'm keep this blog going in the same style it has been whenever I feel extremely happy and feel like celebrating.
As a special thank you to my fellow followers for providing me with a wonderful year I am hosting a giveaway for a $20 book(s) to The Book Depository.
On this one I really want to know what you guys think. Let me know about what you want in future giveaways. If you're liking the layout and look of the blog. If you think there are any memes I should join, and posts I should do.
Just let it all out and gain some entries doing it.
So without further ado... here is the Rafflecopter.
