Reason chosen:

Because I love the Jolie Wilkins series

Summary taken from Goodreads:

A witch’s work is never done, and in bestselling author H. P. Mallory’s mesmerizing new novel, Jolie Wilkins finds that the real magic is only just beginning.

For smart and sexy witch Jolie Wilkins, being Queen of the Underworld is a royal pain. Back from a round of time travel, Jolie must now protect her realm from the sinister Lurkers—a powerful breed of half-humans bent on conquering the undead. And if there’s one thing she knows, it’s that the supernatural never go down without a fight.

At least Jolie has her soul mate (and finally official boyfriend), warlock Rand Balfour, by her side. Honorable, brave, and unbelievably handsome, Rand is everything Jolie wants in a man. So why can’t she forget the dangerously alluring vampire, Sinjin Sinclair? With her private life heating up and a battle boiling over, Jolie sets out to prove that in matters of love and war, the fairer hex has its own set of charms.

Review:

To be 100% honest I felt like this was a bit disappointing for the ending of the series. I felt like many things were left unanswered and maybe she will answer them in the Sinjin Sinclair series...I hope she does. But really while I was reading this series I felt a lot of questions were answered, but with each answer came more questions that were later on answered...most of them. Basically there is a lot that happens in this novel. The question of what Jolie really is finally gets answered and a whole new slew of characters appear in this novel. There wasn’t a lot of humour in this novel like the previous ones, but there was A LOT of action and adventure. Enough the kept my attention wrapped up in this book. I know that I will miss Jolie and Rand, but I’m happy that things have finally been answered. However, I expect to hear about them or maybe even see them in the Sinjin series.

Good:

Rand and Jolie- With Sinjin finally behind them they can finally get their stuff together.

A lot happened in this book, but things finally got answered!

Bad

Well like I said A LOT happens in this book and we find out a lot about Jolie and the underworld and it really brings out a lot of questions.

Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):

Overall I still really enjoyed the series. I felt the novel could have been two books and so much more could have been expanded on. But there was still an overall resolution for Jolie and Brand that brought their stories to an end. It was an awesome easy read and although I had to keep track of all the new characters and story lines it wasn’t that hard. I missed the humour that I found in the other novels and there wasn’t enough of Jolie and Rand to really make me happy. There was a lot of them, but I guess i just wanted them all the time lol. Overall the crazy roller-coaster of emotion time-jumping tale of Jolie has come to an end, and oh what an end it was.
